ACLS Provider Course

Click here to register for ACLS

Conventional ACLS Provider training requires participation in a two-day course of instruction and evaluation.

All attendees/students will participate in teaching and evaluation scenarios that review the necessary skills needed to manage the first 10 minutes of an actual cardiac emergency and resuscitation.

Participants are required to have a current Healthcare Provider AHA CPR card.

UVA Health System employees please note:

Any employee who attends a class within 4 months of their planned departure from the UVA Health System will be required to pay his/her registration fee. Note: Registering for a course before the 4 month time frame does not waive the registration

In order to meet the needs of individuals who have allowed their card to expire or, who have prior training in adult cardiac life support and have not taken a course, a condensed course has been developed. Experienced health care providers who have never taken an ACLS Provider Course but feel they have prior training that would make them eligible for this course will be considered. Examples include the following:

  • Individuals with intensive care training and/or certification. Certification indicates completion or qualification for the Board in Critical Care Medicine.
  • Individuals with training and/or board certification in Cardiovascular Medicine.
  • Individuals with training and/or board certification in Emergency Medicine.
  • Fellows in training for any of the above will be considered.
